Leadership

Mr. Schneider is currently faculty at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in their Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Program focusing on content areas acute and chronic pain management, pharmacology, chemistry and physics of anesthesia.  Doctoral work focuses on ketamine infusions for chronic pain and major depression. Prior to earning master's degree in anesthesia, he worked as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at St. Louis Children's Hospital.  

Independent CRNA at a Critical Access Hospital providing vascular access program, acute and chronic pain management in addition to anesthesia services.

Regional speaker on Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia techniques.

Dr. Stein is the current SIUE Program Director for Nurse Anesthesia.  Completed Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice degree at Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in 2017.  In 2016, Dr. Stein was recognized as a March of Dimes “Nurse of the Year” finalist and in 2017 he was recognized as one of Illinois’ 40 Under Forty Emerging Nurse Leaders.

 

His primary interests include student retention, defining new pedagogical models for millennial learners, technology in anesthesia, and virtual reality simulation.
